Chapter 8-2: From Ego to Consciousness / Sustainable Society Prout Village Second edition

When you are being present in consciousness and seriously working on no-mind, physical anomalies may occur, such as palpitations, fainting, or unexplained poor health. Even when seen by a doctor, the cause may be unknown. At this time, although you may feel anxious, you observe these feelings calmly without being swayed by them, maintaining a state of no-mind. This period varies from person to person. This continuation makes no-mind more of a natural state, one step before it becomes habitual. The anxiety about the body comes from the mistaken recognition and attachment of the ego that the temporary body is oneself. You become aware of this.

As a result of continuing, when no-mind becomes habitual, the words and actions suitable for the situation naturally occur. Consciousness moves the person. Or consciousness moves through the person. In other words, it's not from the desires of the ego, but actions and words that harmonize with the situation occur intuitively. Also, being moved by consciousness means working for the good of the whole.

Being as consciousness is essence, intuition, and insight. Therefore, when you are in a state of no-mind, you notice various things, including the laws of the world. Not the trends that change with the times, but you become more aware of the unchanging laws of the world. This makes the person wise. The longer you are being as consciousness, the less you are bound and the less fixed your ideas become, and your insight to see things deeply works, and you gain wisdom. Conversely, the longer you spend time watching TV or mobile phones for killing time, the further you move away from being in a state of consciousness, and the further you move away from thoughtfulness and wisdom.

The superficial trends in the world continue to change, but the fundamental consciousness remains eternal and unchanged.

Only consciousness is the one thing, and this material universe and the world after death are essentially not permanent, but temporary dreams. This is important for the ego.

The consciousness without thought is neither male nor female, but includes both.

Consciousness deliberately experiences a state of separation from the ego consciousness, and then becomes conscious of consciousness again and returns there. With this perspective, the evolution of humans, who diverged from chimpanzees around 6 million years ago, seems inevitable. Chimpanzees do not have the thinking or understanding power of humans, but after humans diverged, their brains grew larger, their thinking power increased, and their initially relatively weak ego became stronger over time. While the ability to think of evil schemes also increased, they became able to understand emotions such as love. Humans, the creatures on Earth with thinking power, can be said to be the species closest to returning to consciousness by understanding the ego. In other words, it is inevitable in the evolution of life that creatures capable of thinking and understanding consciousness are born.

Consciousness is related to intuition. Intuition comes from consciousness during no-mind, and humans notice this intuition. Intuition harmonizes with the whole, while ego-based thinking disrupts it. Plants and animals do not have the power of thought, but they do have consciousness. Therefore, they exist as consciousness, with intuition always flowing in. Thus, these creatures that follow their intuition also harmonize their movements, and complex ecosystems naturally balance and harmonize with the whole.

Consciousness has no expression and gives no responses. It simply moves humans through formless things and events known as intuition. Humans interpret these in their brains and express them using their bodies.

There are artists and athletes who say, "Because my body moved naturally, I was able to produce such a wonderful result." That's because consciousness is using that person. The idea comes as intuition.

The state referred to as "the zone" or "flow" in sports is a state of being strongly present in consciousness, during no-mind. Therefore, without distractions or fear, high-quality play occurs when one surrenders to intuition.

Even children who start learning sports in their early childhood, who later become representatives at the prefectural level or above, often have sophisticated movements and judgment from the beginning. And around the age of 13, they move like adults. Therefore, intuition is something sophisticated, and the quality of expression increases as the physical techniques to express it are repeated and improved. Intuition comes from consciousness. Therefore, sophistication is a manifestation of consciousness itself. With this in mind, for example, the movement of fish forming a school, or the movement of birds flying in a V-shape, has both practical aspects of energy conservation and beauty. Animals without thought perform highly refined movements intuitively. To human thinking, it appears as harmony and beauty, but to thoughtless plants and animals, they are just acting.

Harmony and high-quality movement occur. That happens when following intuition. It cannot be created from ego-driven thinking.

When traveling with a compatible person, there may be intuitive agreement on things like where you want to go, and when, without verbal communication. Also, when watching group sports like basketball or soccer, you can often see high-quality teamwork before a spectacular goal. This is done in collaboration with multiple people. High-quality play appears when following intuition. Therefore, intuition is something that comes to multiple people instantaneously and harmonizes group actions. This suggests that each individual does not have separate consciousness but that consciousness itself is one and connected.

Those who are good at drawing often see the next line they will draw. Among soccer players, some see the pass and dribble course as white lines. Even if they do not see the white lines, they can see the shooting course. Among those who plan for a living, some see a vague cluster of ideas like a foggy cloud, and by gazing at it over time, it coalesces into a clear idea. This phenomenon appears during moments of no-mind, free of distracting thoughts. It's like seeing with the mind's eye, being present in consciousness. It's a phenomenon that appears when you are doing what you are good at, an emergence of intuition. High performance is achieved when following this visible line.

When you are interested in something, related words or advertisements may stand out to you as you walk down the street, or certain areas may appear brighter. This is the next link. At this time, you are also seeing with the mind's eye.

When playing sports, there are moments when time seems to slow down, like slow motion, when you see beautiful high-quality plays from yourself or others. In the moment you are watching the play, you are in a state of no-mind. You are watching a play that occurred in no-mind, while in no-mind. Humans sometimes stop thinking the moment they see something of high quality.

Also, when witnessing or experiencing shocking events or accidents, they may appear in slow motion. Your thoughts stop for a moment, and you observe it with a momentary high concentration. This is also a state of no-mind.

If physical ability improves or can be maintained at a high level, the performance when intuition comes will also be higher. If the same person gets tired and their movement speed or quality decreases, the insights they used to see will no longer appear. In other words, whether intuition sparks or not depends on the person's condition and environment.

The speed at which intuition sparks varies from person to person. In sports and other competitions that require quick judgment, those who spark quickly win the game. Those who spark slowly have fewer intuitive insights, and therefore lose.

Generally, those who spark quickly are superior in terms of ability.

Listening to quiet music, taking walks, eating lightly seasoned food, and other low-stimulus activities make it easier to maintain a state of being present in consciousness. On the contrary, stimulating things lead to excessive sensory overload. Noise, loud sounds, a lot of information, extremes of heat or cold, spiciness or sweetness.

Even in a noisy life with children, there are many moments when you can achieve no-mind.

Avoiding social interaction to achieve no-mind is ego-driven. Time alone is important, but you can also train to pay attention to your thoughts during conversations with others. There is no need to train in the forest or mountains; it can be done in the secular world.

Intuition and insight are more likely to be blessed when you are seriously and continuously engaged in something. There will be a period when it continues to come. On the other hand, it will stop coming when you become self-righteous. Ego-driven thoughts get in the way, leaving no room for intuition to enter.

    Straightening your spine sharpens intuition.

Intuition is harmonious and of high quality. Following it allows humans to exhibit their maximum ability. Depending on the task at hand, intelligence may be necessary or not. Even if they are not good at studying at a desk, those who are good at sports are blessed with intuition related to movement. Conversely, even if they are not good at sports, some are blessed with intuition related to mathematics. People who become scientists need high intelligence, but that alone is not enough. If they are not interested in and suited for the subject matter, intuition doesn't come often.

When you work on being present in consciousness, new abilities may blossom.

Curiosity and intuition, while different in terms of language, are essentially the same in the context of recognizing "I am interested in this". In other words, following curiosity is following the direction indicated by consciousness. This could be the path where the person's abilities are manifested, or something necessary for their life experience.

Curiosity is a pure interest, like children playing hide and seek. The moment an interest arises, if you see money or self-interest behind it, it could be a desire.

Humans find it difficult to follow their curiosity when faced with the threat of poverty.

Even if you notice your curiosity, if you can't take the first step due to fear of failure, it's because your thoughts fear getting "you" hurt. This fear may come from past bitter experiences or from the ego you were born with.

Vocations and suitable jobs are often found in the realm of hobbies. To find them, it's good to follow your curiosity. A hobby is not something you are forced to do, but something you want to do even if it costs money.

It's difficult to make someone who is engaged in their vocation or suitable job quit. They won't listen even if those around them tell them to stop. Their will becomes that strong.

Because a vocation or suitable job fits the person, they can immerse themselves in it. In those moments, they are in a state of no-mind and are blessed with intuition. That's why it's fun. It's fun to follow your intuition. This joy is not about acquisition, possession, domination, or any other ego-driven pleasure.

    The moment you're laughing, you're in a state of no-mind. That's why it's fun.

Having a talent for something means it's something the person loves.

For people who are doing what they love, the word "effort" is not appropriate. They are simply engrossed in it because it's fun, in a state of no-mind.

For those who are doing what they love, life passes by in a blink of an eye. For those who are doing what they dislike, life feels long.

When you engage in your vocation or suitable job, you may feel a sense of mission. Then, the strength to face hardships also emerges.

Even when engaged in your vocation, there may be periods when no sprouts appear. No matter how long this period lasts, you never give up if it's your vocation. That's because you are following the intuitive impulses that occur in that moment, feeling fulfillment and joy in doing it, and not seeking any return. Therefore, you neither feel disappointed nor lose motivation. Conversely, if there's a desire for return, you may be crushed if no sprouts appear.

There is enjoyable study and unenjoyable study. The former is when you are engaged in following your curiosity, the latter is when you are doing what you don't want to do. The former can be learned spontaneously and is easy to remember, while the latter is the opposite.

People like themselves when they are doing what they love, and during such times, they become more positive, make friends easily, and the number of photos they take also increases.

When people work in their areas of expertise, their minds work faster, and they tend to have more insights. Conversely, when doing something that doesn't suit them, their minds slow down.

The moment of taking a shower is a state of no-mind, which makes it easier for ideas to flash.

When you're talking to someone and a courier delivery arrives, or when you're thinking and suddenly need to go to the toilet, such casual timings can be the moments to stop doing things, or moments when different ideas pop up as you momentarily enter a state of no-mind.

Waking up in the morning, the head is free of noise, making it a suitable time for thinking. On the contrary, at night, the mind is tired from the daytime noise, and concentration decreases.

Ideas come easily after waking up in the morning or from a nap, so think about the problem before going to bed. Then, your mind gets organized during sleep.

Intuitive flashes and ideas are forgotten quickly like dreams. It's better to make a note of them right away.

When you're creating something in a state of no-mind, there comes a moment of intuitive realization that there's nothing more to do. That's the moment of completion at that time. However, when you look at it the next day, you may see something new to do.

The mind cannot think about two things at the same time. If you want to maximize your ability in that moment, focus on one thing.

Even when working in a state of no-mind, you are still using your thoughts. However, if you overly depend on your thoughts to create, you'll end up creating something old. This is because it's not intuitive but made from past memories. As a result, you may become bored in the middle of the process and want to quit.

Everyone's current situation contains things that they should do or learn from their perspective. Some people may already recognize this, while others realize it later. Some people may not notice at all and repeat similar situations many times. When the bondage to the ego is strong, there are many complaints and the current situation is not directly faced. The weaker the bondage, the more you see the situation from the perspective of what it's trying to make you realize.

There are times when the door of life closes. This is a period of learning brought about by consciousness. Then, there will be no development externally, and you cannot open the door yourself. The only things you can do at that time are to wait until it opens naturally and to prepare for when it opens. When you're ready, the door will open.

There are times when your first impression of a new environment is "I've come to an unbelievable place. This is not where I should be," and you're not immediately able to get out of that situation. After that, it can lead to a period of significant growth in mental aspects.

People who think of quitting halfway because they can't do well are trapped in thinking of success or failure. Therefore, it becomes difficult to take the first step when trying something new. The ego fears loss of confidence and damage to one's pride. In such times, try it experimentally to see if it suits you. Then, even if it doesn't suit you, it's easier to quit because the result of the experiment has come out. When you find something that fits, it becomes harder to quit and your abilities are naturally demonstrated.

When you follow your curiosity, intuition, impulse, and motivation naturally come from within. If you follow your intuition, you can continue naturally. Conversely, there is also an intuition that you're bored.

The standards of good and evil that people have differ based on past memories, cultural backgrounds, etc. Even looking at helping people, there can be unwelcome favors. There is an essential goodwill in actions that occur naturally when one becomes no-minded.

When you like someone and act thinking of the other person, it may be called love or affection. If it seeks even a little return, disappointment awaits when there is no return. It may be selfishness disguised as affection or selfishness mixed with affection. Conversely, the ability to continue giving even without return is pure affection. Like when parents raise their children. An action free of desire is affection itself, and there is no anger even when betrayed. Conversely, the ego is also a thought that considers profit and loss. In other words, love or affection is an intuitive action that comes from consciousness, and it is consciousness itself. The world made of consciousness is also made of affection.

Through life experiences, humans grow from beginners to experts, from immature to mature, from crude to refined, from violent to non-violent, from chaotic to harmonious, from conflict to peace, from thinking to no-mind, from ego to consciousness. Growth is also a characteristic of consciousness.
