Ouroboros

In the case of Japanese shimenawa, two snakes are intertwined to form a ring. There is also a figure called Ouroboros, in which a snake or dragon forms a ring and adds its own tail. The next image is Ouroboros in the sarcophagus of Tutankhamen, Egypt.
